How to Download WordPress Files from GoDaddy
If you're launching a new website or blog, you've probably considered using WordPress as your content management system (CMS). WordPress is free, open-source, and powers over 40% of all websites on the internet. If you're hosting your site on GoDaddy, downloading WordPress files is quick and easy.
Here's how to download WordPress files from GoDaddy:
Step 1: Log in to Your GoDaddy Account
Go to GoDaddy's homepage and sign in to your account. If you haven't created an account yet, you'll need to create one to proceed.
Step 2: Go to My Products Page
Once you're logged in to your account, click on "My Products" from the top navigation bar. This will take you to a page that lists all of the products and services you have with GoDaddy.
Step 3: Find Your WordPress Hosting Account
Scroll down the page until you see the section labeled "WordPress Hosting." If you're already using GoDaddy's WordPress Hosting service, you'll see your account listed here. Click on the "Manage" button next to your account.
Step 4: Open Your cPanel
Once you're on the WordPress Hosting page, scroll down to the "Settings" section and click on "cPanel Admin." This will open your cPanel dashboard in a new tab.
Step 5: Find the WordPress Files
Once you're on your cPanel dashboard, look for the "File Manager" icon and click on it. You should see a folder labeled "public_html." This is where your website's files are stored.
Step 6: Download the WordPress Files
Navigate to the "publichtml" folder and look for a file called "wp-config.php." This file contains your WordPress login credentials and other important settings. To download the entire WordPress installation, select all of the files and folders in the "publichtml" folder and click on "Download" or "Download ZIP."
Step 7: Save the Files
Choose a folder on your computer where you want to save the files and click "OK" to start the download. Depending on the size of your WordPress installation, this could take a few minutes.
And that's it! You now have the full WordPress installation downloaded from GoDaddy. You can use these files to make changes to your website offline, or to transfer your website to a new hosting provider. With WordPress, the possibilities are endless. Happy website building!
